Côte d’Ivoire’s Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has published the final voter list ahead of the October 25, 2025 presidential election, confirming 8,727,431 registered voters—an increase of 715,006 from the previous revision cycle, marking an 8.92% growth. The gender distribution includes 4,508,948 men (51.66%) and 4,218,483 women (48.34%). IEC President Ibrahime Coulibaly-Kuibiert announced the figures during a press conference in Abidjan, officially closing the 2024–2025 electoral revision process. He also detailed logistical improvements: 11,906 polling locations, including 989 new ones, and 25,678 polling stations nationwide, with 2,154 newly added.

The voter roll will be accessible to the public beginning June 4, 2025. Presidential candidates must still secure citizen sponsorship from at least 1% of registered voters across a minimum of 16 regions or districts, as mandated since 2020. Opposition parties, however, have raised concerns about the roll’s integrity, citing anomalies such as unverifiable identities, improbable birth dates, and inflated family data. Some entries reportedly list individuals as over 150 years old or women as having hundreds of children.
Coulibaly-Kuibiert acknowledged these irregularities, attributing them to legacy issues with civil registration and historical political compromises. Nonetheless, he affirmed that corrections have been made where credible evidence was provided, and that biometric safeguards ensure the list’s reliability. He called on political actors and citizens to support the continuous improvement of the electoral system and maintain trust in the upcoming vote.
