Morocco Face Syria as Arab Cup Quarter-Finals Kick Off in Qatar

Qatar is hosting the 2025 FIFA Arab Cup from 1–18 December, with the tournament now entering the quarter-final stage. Morocco and Syria will clash on Thursday at Khalifa International Stadium in what is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated fixtures of the round. Morocco, coached by Tarik Sektioui, topped Group B with seven points after a solid run edging Saudi Arabia 1–0, defeating Comoros 3–1, and drawing 0–0 with Oman. The Atlas Lions are aiming for their second Arab Cup title, having last lifted the trophy in 2012.

Syria advanced from Group A as runners-up with five points. They held Palestine to a goalless draw, tied 1–1 with hosts Qatar, and secured a crucial 1–0 victory against Tunisia. Their consistent performances have raised hopes of a deep tournament run. In the other quarter-final on Thursday, Palestine will take on Saudi Arabia. The remaining quarter-finals are scheduled for Friday, featuring Jordan vs. Iraq and Algeria vs. the United Arab Emirates, setting the stage for an intense final stretch of the competition.
