The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially announced the postponement of the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN), moving the tournament from February to August 2025. The competition will now be jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
CAF stated that the decision was made after consultations with technical and infrastructure experts, who recommended additional time to ensure the event’s venues and facilities meet the required international standards.
The governing body acknowledged the progress made by the three host countries in upgrading crucial infrastructure, including stadiums, training grounds, hotels, and medical facilities, to support the successful execution of the tournament.

Initially set for February 1-28, 2025, CHAN will now take place in August, providing the host nations with extra time to complete the final stages of preparation.
