The mission engaged with key political figures, including President Joseph Boakai, former presidents Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and George Weah, legislative leaders, and judicial officials.
The delegation emphasized the need for all stakeholders to adhere to the recent Supreme Court ruling, which is central to the political standoff. The crisis emerged following contested leadership positions in the House of Representatives, fueling political tensions in the country.
ECOWAS officials underscored the importance of dialogue, urging political actors to prioritize Liberia’s democratic stability. The regional bloc reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the West African nation in maintaining peace, governance, and institutional integrity.
