Ivorian Chef Zeinab Bancé Launches New Bid to Break Longest Cooking Marathon Record

Ivorian chef Zeinab Bancé has embarked on another ambitious attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous cooking marathon. Her latest effort comes after a previous attempt in December 2024, where she cooked for an impressive 131 hours but failed to secure official validation due to a technical issue with video documentation.

Bancé, known for her passion for Ivorian and West African cuisine, remains undeterred and is determined to achieve the record. She has meticulously prepared for this new challenge, ensuring all necessary requirements—such as uninterrupted video footage, health and safety protocols, and proper rest breaks—are in place to meet Guinness World Records’ strict verification standards.

The current record for the longest cooking marathon is held by Irish chef Alan Fisher, who cooked non-stop for 119 hours and 57 minutes in November 2023. Bancé’s goal is to surpass this feat, bringing global recognition to Ivorian culinary traditions.

Supporters, food enthusiasts, and local authorities have rallied behind her, celebrating her resilience and dedication to promoting Ivorian gastronomy on the world stage. If successful, Bancé will not only break a world record but also set a new benchmark for endurance and culinary excellence.
