Ghanaian hip life star King Promise was named Artiste of the Year at the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) 2025, securing his place among the country’s top musical icons. His acclaimed album True to Self and hits like “Slow Down,” “Favorite Story,” “Sexy,” and “Paris” drove his dominance throughout the year.
The ceremony, held in Accra, celebrated a range of musical achievements. Joe Mettle won both Best Male Vocalist and Best Gospel Artiste, while Esther Godwill took Best Female Vocalist. Other winners included Tulenkey (Hip Life Song), Kweku Smoke (Best Hip-hop Song and Rap Performance), and KiDi ft. Black Sherif (Best Collaboration).
King Paluta’s “Aseda” won Most Popular Song, Beeztrap KOTM was named Best New Artiste, and Yaw Sarpong received the Lifetime Achievement Award, honoring a career that spans decades in gospel music.
