Liberian President Joseph Boakai has pledged a renewed commitment to global diplomacy and national development, marking the occasion with the relaunch of the Gabriel Dennis Foreign Service Institute in Monrovia.
The revamped institute will feature an Ambassadorial Lecture and Seminar Series, designed to strengthen Liberia’s foreign policy expertise and train a new generation of diplomats. It aims to serve as a hub for strategic engagement, international cooperation, and policy innovation.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Boakai reflected on Liberia’s historical contributions to international diplomacy—including its status as a founding member of the League of Nations, and its leadership role in the 1959 Sanniquellie Conference, which laid groundwork for the creation of the Organization of African Unity, now the African Union. The relaunch is part of Boakai’s broader agenda to revitalize Liberia’s foreign policy institutions, promote good governance, and elevate the country’s voice in regional and global affairs.
