For seven days, the Sahara Festival brings together dancers, musicians, and craftspeople from across the Sahara, with Niger as guest of honor alongside Mali, Morocco, Mauritania, and Burkina Faso. The annual festival features concerts, parades, and camel races involving more than 400 dromedaries. Visitors can sample regional foods, including camel milk and traditional dishes, and explore local crafts. Organizers aim to promote desert heritage, tourism, and cooperation among Saharan countries. Over ten years, the festival has grown into a key cultural gathering, fostering connections between communities and celebrating shared futures across the Sahara.
