Senegal Police Dismantle Transnational Child Exploitation Network

Senegalese police say they have broken up a transnational criminal network accused of sexually exploiting minors, with links between Senegal and France. In a statement on Sunday, investigators said a large-scale operation led to raids in Dakar and the city of Kaolack. Fourteen suspects appeared in court on Friday facing charges including organised child exploitation, trafficking-related offences, rape of minors under 15, and the intentional spread of infectious disease. All of those charged are Senegalese nationals.

Authorities allege the group had been active since 2017. Four suspects are accused of operating under the direction of a French national who was arrested in northern France last year. Police say the victims were young boys and that the abuse was recorded. The case highlights growing concern over cross-border crimes targeting children and the need for stronger international cooperation in law enforcement.
