Real Madrid Reach Agreement to Sign Ivorian Winger Yan Diomandé from RB Leipzig

Real Madrid have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Ivorian winger Yan Diomandé from RB Leipzig in one of the biggest transfer deals of the summer, beating strong interest from French champions Paris Saint-Germain. The 19-year-old is expected to travel to Madrid in the coming days to undergo a medical examination and finalize a five-year contract that will keep him at the Santiago Bernabéu until June 2031. According to multiple reports, Real Madrid and RB Leipzig finalized the agreement on Sunday after reaching a breakthrough in negotiations earlier in the day. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that the two clubs completed the deal later in the evening.

The transfer is valued at approximately €120 million, including performance-related bonuses, making it one of the most expensive signings involving an African player. Diomandé had also attracted serious interest from Paris Saint-Germain, with club president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi making a late attempt to secure the highly rated winger. However, Real Madrid moved quickly to complete the transfer, while PSG ultimately decided against matching Leipzig’s valuation. The young Ivory Coast international has earned a reputation as one of Europe’s brightest attacking prospects thanks to his pace, dribbling ability and creativity in the final third. His arrival is expected to further strengthen Real Madrid’s youthful squad as the club continues investing in emerging global talent. Once the remaining formalities are completed, Diomandé will officially join the Spanish giants during the current summer transfer window.
