Egypt’s UNESCO Director General Candidate Unveils Campaign Slogan: “UNESCO for the People”

Khaled El-Enany, Egypt’s candidate for the position of UNESCO Director General, has revealed the slogan he will use in his campaign: “UNESCO for the People.” The announcement was made during an event at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization on Monday, attended by ambassadors from numerous countries, as well as prominent figures from the political, academic, and cultural sectors.

At the gathering, the esteemed Egyptologist outlined his vision for the future of UNESCO should he be appointed. He emphasized the need for the organization to adapt to contemporary challenges, including the ecological transition, the impact of emerging technologies, and addressing inequalities in access to education.

El-Enany’s candidacy has gained significant international support, with backing from countries such as France, Brazil, and Spain. Additionally, the League of Arab States and the African Union have thrown their support behind him.
